Pench National Park

We all know it as the home for Mowgli. Pench National Park is nowadays a very popular destination for nature lovers as it mesmerizes you with its flora and fauna. There are about 50 tigers in the National Park including Buffer Zone.

However, the most famous among them has Collarwali, Landgi, Durga and some other names as well.

Pench has a wide variety of other animals as well including chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar, and jackal. Also Indian leopard, sloth bear, Indian wolf, wild dog, porcupine, monkey, jungle cat, fox, striped hyena, gaur, four-horned antelope, and barking deer live in the park.

The park is rich in bird life too. According to an estimate of the wildlife authorities, the park harbors more than 210 species including several migratory ones. Some of them are peafowl, junglefowl, crow pheasant, Coppersmith Barbet, red-vented bulbul, racket-tailed drongo, Indian roller, magpie robin, lesser whistling teal, pintail, shoveller, egret and herons, minivet, oriole, wagtail, munia, myna, waterfowl, and common kingfisher.

How to reach Pench National Park:

Pench National Park is easily accessible. The Distance from Nagpur Airport is approx 100KM (2 Hours Journey) and taxis are easily available from outside the Airport. One can even sight wildlife while going towards the national park.

If you’re planning to come via train, then Seoni railway station tucked to Madhya Pradesh is the nearest railway station to Pench as it is located around 72 km away and is well connected to major cities of the country.

How many days one should plan for?

There are no minimum or maximum days to enjoy nature but to have a satisfactory feeling, a minimum of 3 days would be required. Also, the sightings are higher at Turia (MP) and Khursapar (MH) Gates. In 3 days, one can have a total of 5 Safaris.
