Corbett National Park also know as Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) is the largest Tiger Reserve in India and has the maximum number of tigers (in comparison with other tiger reserves or national parks). It also serves as a home for different variety of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and various trees.

Besides that, it has more than 400 species of birds which one could spot in the vicinity over the year.

This place is very close from many famous cities, including Delhi (5 hours drive). One can visit this place for tiger safaris, Bird watching or simply for enjoying the nature. It’s mixed geography and 2 major rivers (Kosi and Ramganga) makes it even more exciting and makes it the largest tiger reserve.

The main regions for tiger safaris (including Dhikala) are open from 15th November till 15th June. That said, buffer zone is as exciting as the core and is open for tourists throughout the year. However, the best season to see a tiger is from mid-April to June.

For birding, the national park’s surroundings are always open. That said, birds are seen less in the monsoon season as that is also the breeding season for most of the bird species too.

How to reach:

The closest airport is at Pantnagar and via train, one can reach till Ramnagar. That said, one can fly/come via train till Delhi and can take a road journey of 5 hours too. 

How many days one should plan for?

It totally depends on which month of the year you’re coming. Also, what’s the main purpose of the trip, is it Tiger Safari, or Bird watching, or exploring nature trails etc.
